Gu Xiaoxian,a famous Su embroidery artist,was born in Suzhou in 1978. Influenced by her mother in her youth,she learned embroidery theory and skill,specializing in running stitch and random embroidery. While Inheriting traditional embroidery skill,she also tries to combine the idea and style of western painting into it to enhance the aesthetic beauty of random embroidery . Focusing on color and details, she uses thousands of stitches and threads to manifest the authenticity and texture of images in her work. Her works are lively and vivid with a great aesthetic value and are highly collectible. |

Honor |
Famous for her use of random embroidery to embroider Western oil paintings and portraits, her works are collected by Japanese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese collectors. Among them, a president of some Japanese company collected the embroidery portrait of his own. The embroidery version of Renoir's work The Little Girl with the Eagle is collected by Yuanxifang in Taiwan, and the embroidery masterpiece Klimt Kiss is collected by the Hong Kong collection. At the same time, she also won many awards in China. She won the silver medal with The Lion in the 4th "Art Expo Award - Silver Needle Cup" embroidery work competition in Jiangsu in 2010. A bronze medal is awarded to her for Her Source of Living Water in the 11th China Arts and Crafts Masters and International Art Exposition. In 2011, her work Mona Lisa won the Gold Medal of the Arts and Crafts Masters and Arts and Crafts Exposition. |

Inheriting the traditional Su embroidery, Gu Xiaoxian takes great responsibility in promoting Chinese embroidery culture, going to many places at home and abroad to show and teach Chinese embroidery. She gives embroidery courses at the City University of Hong Kong, and also serves as the artistic director of Hong Kong Embroidery Art Communication Company. As she makes great contributions to the dissemination and development of Chinese embroidery, her works and story have been reported by many media and magazines at home and abroad. Among them, 《Inside Chinese Embroidery》 in America introduced her embroidery life. The Shanghai section in Japanese magazine 《Walker》 introduced Gu Xiaoxian's embroidery skills. 《HongkongTailor》 in Hong kong and 《Open》, the Su zhou magazine also introduced the family embroidery she represented. |
